Accessibility & reading help

Choose supports that help you investigate independently or with a partner.

  • Listen reads the current page’s visible reading content. Pause, resume, and stop are available. Browser voices vary by device and language.
  • Text size changes the reading text. Focus reading reduces decorative images and navigation while preserving activity controls.
  • Use English, Brazilian Portuguese, or Spanish. Original archival records and linked media retain their own languages.
  • Use a keyboard, browser zoom, a partner, dictation, or a scribe. Written responses are not the only way to demonstrate historical thinking.
  • Video captions, audio transcripts, and accessibility at external websites vary. Preview them before assigning independent work.
